Dear Cheerleading Family,
Cheerleading isn’t just a sport—it’s a passion, a journey, and a place where we grow as athletes and as people. From the moment I started cheerleading, I fell in love. I wanted to learn everything I could, and over the years, my passion has only grown stronger.
One of the highlights of my cheer career was cheering at the University of Louisville. It’s where I discovered my love for stunting and found new ways to grow and get creative in this amazing sport. During my time there, my team and stunt group achieved incredible milestones, including stunt group and team national titles and even a gold medal at the Cheerleading Worlds. These were some of the proudest moments of my life.
But achieving my dreams as an athlete made me realize something bigger: I wanted to give back to this amazing community that shaped me. I wanted to help others grow, dream big, and feel supported on their cheer journey.
When I moved back to Connecticut, I was lucky to start coaching at Sacred Heart University. Coaching has been an incredible experience, giving me the chance to work with amazing athletes and coaches from all over. It also made me realize how much our sport could grow if we had more resources and support for coaches and athletes.
That’s why I started Movement for Cheerleaders—to create opportunities, build connections, and help our cheer family grow stronger together.
Now, I’m inviting YOU to be part of this movement. Let’s work together to lift each other up, celebrate every milestone, and create a future for cheerleading that’s full of possibilities.
Let’s make this happen together. Let’s start the Movement.
With love and determination,
Alex Birch
